1 John 4:20-21 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. (NKJV)
To say “I love you” is easy. To truly deeply love is more difficult, because you have to expect nothing in return and yet be willing to give your all! God loves us unconditionally, despite our past bad actions or behaviors: He forgives us everything we might have done because He loves us so much. Once we accept that concept, we are free to grow into the people He made us to be, and we can do it because we are finally free of the guilt our past kept dredging up.
